Mom was a high school teacher and had a strict dress code for her classes. She required all of her students to wear uniforms, but she would often look down on those who didn’t have the latest fashion trends.
One day, one of her students came to class wearing high heels. Mom was shocked that someone so young would wear such an adult shoe and started to lecture them about how it wasn’t appropriate for their age. She told them that they needed to be more mature in their choices and that this shoe was too flashy for a teenager.
When another student came to class wearing sneakers, Mom was disappointed. She said that those shoes were meant for playing sports or going to the gym, not for school. She made it clear that she expected her students to dress appropriately and that they needed to wear more professional footwear.
Another day, a girl walked into class barefoot. Mom was shocked and couldn’t believe what she saw. “How can you walk around in your bare feet?” she asked the girl. The girl explained that she had forgotten her shoes at home but Mom didn’t care. She made sure to remind everyone else to wear proper shoes or they would be sent home to change.
Mom was very particular about what people wore and expected them to adhere to her strict dress code. If anyone didn’t meet her expectations, they would receive a stern talking-to and in some cases, even detention.
